A Birthday to Remember

My family has begun a tradition of theme Birthday parties. They are all memorable in their own way...this past B-day celebration took our tradition to a whole new level. Rachel and Oma planned a fabulously crazy fun OLYMPIC theme combined B-day party for Beth and I.

Each family member represented a different nation. For the opening ceremonies we wore attire to showcase our country. Then we had a delicious lunch and then changed into our athletic wear...which included T-shirts with our nation flag and names on them. Then we competed in a water balloon toss, water balloon volleyball, jump rope racing, holey board, and F.I.R.G! (Freestyle Impromptu Rhythmic Gymnastics).

All of these exciting events were followed by cake and presents. Then we concluded the evening by watching a DVD that recapped past Olympic highlights and history. It was one of the most active, tiring, wacky, funny, and memorable Birthdays yet! Thanks everyone for making it so fun! Athletes & Countries represented: Oma-Ireland, Opa-Germany, Rachel (Rashonda)-Rwanda, Kyle-England, Beth-Cambodia, Laura-Italy, Bill-USA, Emma-"D'Emmican Republic, Austin-Australia, Emilie-"Hungary", Sam-"Samoa", Jayne-"Jaynemaca", Karen & Bill-spectators
